The Netherland’s Prince Maurits visits Opel
Royal VIP learns more about emissions-free mobility

Rüsselsheim. A member of the Dutch royal family visited Opel in Rüsselsheim: Accompanied by representatives of the Dutch government responsible for transport and the economy, Prince Maurits Willem Pieter Hendrik of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven visited Adam Opel House to learn more about the future of alternative propulsion. He was greeted by Opel CEO Nick Reilly and Vice President of Marketing Alain Visser.
Prinz Maurits has a keen interest in alternative mobility. He visited Opel in his capacity as chairman of The “Formula E,” established in 2009 to create national and regional electric vehicle initiatives. At both the Opel technical center in Rüsselsheim and the research center for alternative engines in Mainz-Kastel, his Highness was updated on the latest status of emissions-free mobility. Highlights of the visit included discussions about the Opel’s electric vehicle Ampera as well as hydrogen propulsion and the use of fuel cells. The program included test drives of Opel’s latest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Opel HydroGen4.
