Rüsselsheim/Santiago. Starting next year, Opel will begin selling vehicles in Chile, making it the first country in Latin America to launch the German brand. The company will have direct business control over a dedicated Opel team that will be supported by GM Chile.
"German automotive engineering has a high appeal in South America and we are glad to start with Chile. I am confident that Opel with its new model range will be successful in making a differentiating statement," Michael Klaus, Executive Director Opel International Operations said.
The Chilean launch is concrete proof that the brand is on course with its Plan for the Future. Opel is currently preparing to enter more growth markets. The company previously announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shlomo Group to export vehicles in Israel.
