Opel Appoints New Distributor in Israel

Next step in Opel’s export offensive

Rüsselsheim/Petah Tikva -  Opel confirmed today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shlomo Group to import and distribute Opel vehicles and parts into Israel as of early 2011. With this agreement, both parties will immediately begin preparing Opel's relaunch in Israel.

"We are pleased that one of the strongest industry players in Israel, the Shlomo group, will represent the Opel brand in the future," says Michael Klaus, Executive Director, International Operations. "Israel plays an important role in our export initiative. With our attractive new products like the Insignia and Astra we will re-position  the Opel brand in the Israeli market."

The Shlomo Group is one of the leading Israeli holding groups. The relaunch of the brand in Israel is an important step to strengthen Opel’s presence in growth markets. Opel is preparing to enter more export markets, among them countries in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and South America. The company expects excellent growth opportunities in those markets.
