Statement on Today’s Report in the Financial Times Deutschland

Rüsselsheim. Opel continues to maintain that all questions were answered to the German guarantee committee. The two open items in the process that are mentioned by the FTD are known and not new. They are independent of the set of questions asked by the committee. In fact, Opel advised the guarantee committee during its last meeting on May 12 that they would be informed about the banking consortium this week. This will then close one of the two issues. As for the other, discussions with employee representatives are at an advanced stage.
Opel has not received any negative indication from the guarantee committee about our application. We believe we have a legitimate and valid case to seek for loan guarantees under existing aid programs. We trust the process will continue as planned and be based on an objective assessment of the application.
