Mainz / Kaiserslautern. Opel/Vauxhall CEO Nick Reilly confirmed shortly after he met with Rhineland Palatinate Minister President Kurt Beck that the Kaiserslautern plant will continue to play an important role within the brand's manufacturing network. "I am counting on Kaiserslautern for sure," Reilly said after the meeting.
There is already an existing plan for the future of the plant, which produces engines and components, which had been discussed previously with employee representatives. This plan will be the basis for Kaiserslautern moving forward and will include voluntary job reductions, which could be offered relatively soon.
