Cadillac CTS-V Wagon named Auto Bild Sportscar of the Year

Zürich/Essen – The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon has been named Autobild Sports Car of the Year 2011. On Friday, November 25, the trophies of the renowned Auto Bild Sportscar reader poll were awarded for the 10th time at the Essen Motor Show. More than 70’000 readers of the monthly publication cast their votes and chose among 173 vehicles, competing in 9 categories, each of which was subdivided into Tuning and Production vehicles. Over 400 representatives from industry and media attended the anniversary celebration. Eve Scheer and Stefan Müller, Marketing head of Axel Springer motoring publications, hosted the event. Cadillac Europe Managing Director Wolfgang Schubert took receipt of the award for the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. He said: “We congratulate Auto Bild Sportscar for 10 Years of excellent work and are proud that Cadillac has been selected by the magazine’s readers as a winner in its category. This is another proof that Cadillac designs true super sports cars which can win against the best in the world.”

The 564-horsepower CTS-V Sport Wagon was the winner ahead of competitors such as the Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TFSI quattro and the Opel Insignia OPC Sports Tourer.

The CTS-V Sport Wagon was introduced to the European market in spring of 2011. “The fastest wagon on the planet” reaches with its supercharged V8 engine and 564 HP a top speed of 308 km/h – zero to a hundred in 4.1 seconds and zero to two hundred in 13.2 seconds.
